On May 21 Ryan Leaf was indicted by a grand jury in Randall County Texas on drug and buglary charges. Leaf is accused of breaking into the apartment of a former football player to steal his pain medication.
Leaft had been the QB coach at West Texas A&M University before resigning last Novemeber. He is currently
believed to be at a drug rehabilition center in British Columbia.
While we have had a lot of fun at Leaf’s expense over the
years on this site, we have a hard time finding humor in this situation. We hope he gets the help he needs and wish him
all best in the future.

When this site went live
in late 2002, we asked, “Where have you gone Ryan Leaf?” because we really didn’t know where the hell he
was. Leaf had mysteriously retired the preceding summer and had seemingly disappeared.
Today, since we actually know where Leaf is, "Where have you gone Ryan Leaf?"
has a new meaning. 40 years ago, many wondered, "Where have you gone Joe DiMaggio?" while the Yankee Clipper was still visible
doing Mr. Coffee commercials. It wasn't the physical presence of DiMaggio they yearned for, it was a time of innocence that
had faded into history.
Generation X however, has no time for corny, cliché nostalgia, we "yearn" for irreverence,
sarcasm and irony. So, where have you gone Ryan Leaf?
